We started Our Future First in 2018 in memory of a former student and friend of our staff, Maurice "Reese" Lewis. We lost Reese to an act of senseless gun violence in our hometown of Millville, NJ. His selfless nature and constant willingness to help is an inspiration to us and so many members of our community. He is the reason why we do what we do and your donation to support our work honors his life and memory.
We are very excited to have purchased our building that will serve as Reese's House, our community-centered cafe called Reese's House. This space will allow us to focus on social, emotional, mental, academic, and physical growth with a specific focus on innovation, empowerment, & entrepreneurship for our youth and community. Reese's House will be a space to work with our youth, host nightly events & classes for all people, and will serve as an organizing hub for community members to do the important work they deem necessary in our area.
